See You Next Year, #AHRExpo

Day 3 at #AHRExpo Chicago

When we arrived in Chicago for AHR Expo this year, we were excited to have the opportunity to chat with industry professionals about the latest trends in everything HVAC, hydronic balancing and sustainability. This year’s show did not disappoint! Absorbing as much as we could by attending various educational sessions, we left Chicago feeling ready for more. Even the chilly, windy weather and dreaded bus lines couldn’t deter our excitement. If you were at the show this year, then you know what we’re talking about: the hustle and bustle of the crowd as it anxiously awaited the opening of the expo hall was one of our favorite parts of each day.

A Balancing Act: Rodney McWhirteryoung Schools us in Hydronic Balancing at #AHRExpo

Expo hall at #AHRExpo

With the educational sessions wrapping up on day 2 of AHR Expo, day 3 gave us plenty of time to explore the expo hall, catch up on our show daily reading and talk to the reps manning the Victaulic booth. We caught Rodney McWhirteryoung, National Hydronic Balancing Manager, between demos and asked him to give us a better idea of how hydronic balancing works and what products Victaulic offers.

Using Building Automation to Increase Sustainability at #AHRExpo

Victaulic welcome at #AHRExpo

We’re back for round 2 of day 2 coverage live from AHR Expo 2012! The afternoon’s sessions took us in a slightly different direction from the session we attended earlier on system performance verification. One of those sessions, “Building Sustainability through Building Automation” presented by Ben Dorsey of KMC Controls, a member of BACnet International, offered some great insights into all things sustainable (quite the recurring theme!), which your faithful (and hopefully favorite) AHR roaming reporters have dutifully compiled for your education and enjoyment.

Optimizing System Performance at #AHRExpo

Victaulic booth at #AHRExpo

After a fantastic opening day of AHR Expo 2012, we were back at it on Tuesday showcasing our latest HVAC piping systems in the booth (#4135), and sharing the wisdom, tips and tricks we picked up in the sessions. Continuing our coverage of the educational programming, first up was a session with Erik Rasmussen and Earl Delatte, both Certified Subject Matter Educators, who discussed “The Journey to System Performance.” Their presentation explored best practices in system performance verification and how to achieve increased efficiency and comfort. This was a fun and interactive session where Erik and Earl even measured the relative humidity in the room for us.

The Building Automation Industry Made Visible at #AHRExpo

Crowds awaiting to enter the expo hall

We made it to Chicago for #AHRExpo 2012, and Day 1 was quite a success! Starting our morning off right, we filled our coffee cups to the brim and trekked on over to the McCormick Place to attend various educational sessions, peruse the exhibits, and tweet updates for those not able to make it to the Windy City this year. The convention center was the place to be Monday morning. As you can see, there was quite the turnout anxiously awaiting the opening of the expo hall, and the show had only just begun! We can’t wait to see what days 2 and 3 bring.
